Red cyanine glasses for seeing entities, spirits, ghosts, spectrum of American night vision devices used in Vietnam.

There are actual reports of US military personnel who fought in Vietnam using first-generation night vision goggles that had a red spectrum rather than a green spectrum. The military, using red spectrum night vision goggles, saw some entities and strange creatures on the battlefield. One of the first to "make contact" was Officer Morrison and his squad at the end of 1958. They noticed a strange glow that was approaching them, and soon saw a flying creature that looked like a woman with huge wings. The creatures moved quickly and silently, causing surprise and fear among the American soldiers. Subsequently, several dozen real reports of American military personnel using red spectrum night vision goggles and seeing various entities were recorded. The soldiers thought they were seeing demons, and due to panic among the soldiers, the equipment was seized and never used again.

The equipment that apparently caused problems for soldiers in Vietnam was called "Starlight Sights." The first generation of night vision goggles produced a reddish image rather than a green one. This was due to the phosphor coating used on the screens. There is a very detailed history of the origins and development of night vision optics in the US military, written by history professor Richard Root of the US Naval Academy in 2017. According to Professor Richard Root, in the 1940s and 1950s, German, Russian and American military night vision technology sometimes used an infrared emitter or light source to illuminate the battlefield, where it could be clearly seen using an infrared sight or infrared goggles.

In addition to the detailed scientific information, it is noticeable that Professor Richard Root spent a lot of time explaining the “psychological effects” of night vision optics used by soldiers in Vietnam. Some of his explanations related to the reluctance, difficulty and inability of Vietnamese soldiers to use this "new technology". "Fatigue", "hallucinations" and more, which explained the soldiers' inability to psychologically cope with what they saw while using these sights.

Some prototypes contained various compounds, including cyanine or Dyson's dye. The clearest scientific explanation can be found from ufologists and ghost hunters, who have noticed that entities can most often be photographed in the infrared and ultraviolet spectrum. The entities that some soldiers talk about are related to the compound's ability to allow through or restrict certain parts of the light spectrum, so when looking at a person, it darkens the light that can refract from the skin, while at the same time "amplifying" the light from behind.

A number of the original first generation night vision goggles remain on the market, and these goggles are an exact replica of the range of the original goggles from Vietnam.
