Offer to throw in here that make you wonder.
Parables,anecdotes and the like.
A Zen story: one sannyasin was standing on top of a hill early in the morning alone. He stood, not moving, lonely as a hill, and passed by three that came out for a morning walk. They looked at this man and came to different conclusions about what he's doing. One said: I know the monk. Once he lost cow, so he is here watching from the hill where she is."
The second said, "But, judging by the way he stands, he does not look. He did not move, his eyes seem almost closed. Thus, the person is not looking for something. I think he was taking a walk with a friend, and he fell behind — he waits until the man will do.
Another said, "it Seems that is not the case, as if he's expecting someone, he sometimes looks to see whether a friend or not. But he's not moving, he looks around. He does not expect it does not pose waiting person. I think he is praying or meditating".
So they disagreed, and so excited about it that he decided that it would be better to go and ask himself. The hill was hard to climb, but they went. They got to him first and said, "are You looking for a cow? Because I know that once you lost her and now have her out."
The man opened his eyes and said, "I don't possess anything, so nothing can be lost. I'm not looking for neither a cow, nor anything else." Then he closed his eyes.
The second said, "Then should be I'm right — you're waiting for a friend who is left behind".
The man opened his eyes and said, "I Have no friends and enemies alike, how can I wait for someone? I'm alone — and no I'm not lagged, as no one. I'm completely alone."
Then the third said, "Then I am right, because no other possibilities. I think you pray, meditate".
The man laughed and said, "You are the most stupid, because I don't know anyone whom I could pray, and I have no object to achieve, so how can I meditate?"
Then all three simultaneously asked, "What do you do then?"
The man said, "I'm just standing, I do nothing."<

When Pompeii was destroyed by a volcanic eruption at midnight the whole city was on fire, he collapsed at home and the people fled. Each was carrying something, the city was very rich. And people were carrying the most expensive: some carried their gold, some diamonds, money, scientists carried their manuscripts, books — they carried everything that could be saved. But he was only one man who was carrying nothing but his staff. All who carried things, were alarmed, anxious, ruined their whole life. Only this man walked among the crowd, as if he were out for a morning walk. It was his custom: in three hours he went for a morning walk, as it was this time.
Whoever looked at him, and said, "Why don't you save? You've lost everything?"
The man replied: "I Have nothing, and all that I have, I am".
"Then why do you walk as if out for a morning walk? After going such a nightmare, everything dies!"
The man laughed and said, "All that you have accumulated from this world the death it destroys, fire that burns. I've been consciousness. For you this may be a tragedy, but for me — this time a morning walk".

One day, Rabia was looking for something on the street in front of his hut. Sat sun; gradually the darkness thickened. Gathered people. They asked the old lady, and she was a famous Sufi mystic:
- What are you doing? What have you lost? What you're looking for?
- I lost a needle, ' she replied.
But the sun goes down, - said the people - and very difficult to find the needle, but we can help you. Where it fell? - because the road is so big, and the needle is so small. If we know the exact location, it will be easier to find her.
- I'd rather you didn't ask me this question, because in fact, she fell not on the road! She fell at my house.
People began to laugh and say:
- We always thought you were a little crazy! If the needle dropped in the house, why are you looking for her on the road?
- One simple, logical reason: the house had no light and the road was still a little light. People laughed and began to disperse to their homes. Rabia called to them and said:
- Look! That's what you do: I just followed your example. You continue to look for bliss in the outside world without asking the primary question: where did you lose it? And I'm telling you that you have lost it inside. You are looking outside for the simple and logical reason that your senses open to the outside, and I say this to you by law. I also looked outside for many, many lives, and that day, when I looked inside, I was surprised. There was no need to explore and seek; it was always there.

Young devil rushed to his boss. Trembling with impatience, he said to the man:
- You need something urgent to do on Earth one person knew the truth! What will happen to us if people know the truth?
The old devil laughed and said:
- Sit down, relax and don't worry. We took care of it. Our people are already there.
But I just arrived there: I haven't seen a single trait.
- Our people are the priests! They have surrounded those who find the truth. They will become mediators between him and the masses. They will build churches, to write of the Holy book; they will be misinterpreted and deliberately distort. They will ask people to worship and pray. And in all this chaos the truth will drown! This is my old method and it still never let me down.

A True Miracle
Man has come a long way by land and by sea, in order to make sure that unusual abilities of the Wizard.
- What wonders did your Master? he asked one disciple.
- Depends on what you call miracles. In your country is considered to be a miracle if God will fulfill someone's will. We also believe a miracle if somebody is going to do the will of God.
The courage - make an attempt
One day the king decided to test all his courtiers to find out who among them is able to take in his Kingdom important public office. The crowd is strong and wise men surrounded him. "About you, my subjects, - appealed to him king, I have for you is a tough task and I would like to know who will be able to solve it." He failed to present to the huge door lock, such a huge, what ever. "This is the biggest and most difficult castle that was ever in my Kingdom. Who of you will be able to open it?" - asked the king. Some courtiers just shook their heads. Others who were considered wise, began looking at the castle, but soon admitted that he can't open it. Since wise failed, the rest of the court remained nothing how to admit, too, that this task for them that it is too difficult for them. Only one vizier came to the castle. He began to examine it carefully and feel, then tried a variety of ways to budge, and finally, one jerk pulled it. About a miracle - the lock opened! He was just not fully latches. The king then announced: "You will get a place at court, because they rely not only on what you see and hear, but rely on their own strength and are not afraid to make the attempt".
Donkey and horse
Was a horse and a donkey from the market. It so happened that the donkey was loaded above the head, and the horses ran lightly.
They went, went, went halfway - ass tired, wheezing, barely breathing.
- Please, - he asked the horse - help me! Take a piece of cargo!
But the horse and the ear does not lead.
After a while the donkey cried:
- I'm tired! Help!
But the horse only with their ears spinning.
The road went uphill. Donkey feels that it is about to fall, and the third time asks the horse:
- Help!
"Okay," agreed the horse - something I will undertake: you get the goods, and I, so be it, I will groan and sweat.
The donkey walked a dozen steps and fell.
- Get up, get up, honey! begged the owner, but the donkey could not get up.
Nothing to do. Unloaded the owner of the donkey and all the Luggage piled on the horse. Now the donkey ran lightly, and the horse groaned and sweat
for two.
Protection
One man wanted to protect his house from bad guys so they are unable to get into the house or burn it. So he had a big and thick wall. However, when the wall was ready, he thought that the villains can break through the wall or jump through it to get to his house and carry out his evil intent.
So he built a second wall, still higher and thicker first, and then a third, and a fourth, and a fifth. When the fifth wall was finished, people thought that we needed a sixth wall, but this time his house collapsed from old age and decrepitude. People longingly looked at a bunch of garbage on the majestic walls around her and said, "what I now wall, if not home?"
But you, my friend, continue to do the same: put a Dinar for a Dinar, lay down and meditate, what height, and fortress could be the wall of your dinars, if you have erected around yourself? Can answer you. No matter how high and strong would not be a wall, it still would not be able to protect your life from suffering and death. Indeed, if the suffering will not come to you from outside, it comes from within yourself. If death does not come from outside, from poverty and crime, it will come from within, from your old age and idleness. Although the walls are made of gold and silver, you have a vegetable garden, and protect your life from the outside world, they can't protect it from internal destruction.
So I ask you, my friend, why do you have walls made of gold and silver dinars with which you surround yourself, if your life could soon become like that house, which collapsed and ceased to exist? You turned back to your life, and face - to walls that are trying to protect their lives from adversity. Essentially you're trying to protect is not life, but only a means in order to live. Don't kid yourself! While your wealth is growing, however, does not increases your life.
Wealth does not life, it's just a backup for short-term mortality.
Manuscripts don't burn
Here Spain, and the Inquisition, and of the XV century, and the harness morenow not morenov, and watch over the purity of faith. And come among others to the one learned and venerable Rabbi, and rake it all the scrolls and parchment, and arrange autos, and let him rejoice that while the wiring is not him, only his books.
Square, the crowd, the fire, the spark, the executioner of burning leaves stirs. And driven the Jews stand at the platform, take a cautionary lesson. Gray and enlightened Rabbi, his disciples, aloofly looking into the fire, silently whispering and smiling sometimes.
And one of the students, not withstanding, asks:
- Ravi, why are you smiling? After all, burn your manuscripts, the whole point and work your life? To which he answers:
- Manuscripts don't burn - burns the paper... and the words return to God.
And why not the cross?
There was once a man, alone and miserable. And he said:
"Lord, give me a beautiful woman: I am very lonely I need a friend".
God laughed: "why not a cross?"
Man angry: "the Cross?! I just tired? I just want a beautiful woman".
Well, he got a beautiful woman, but it soon became even more unhappy than before: this woman was the pain in his heart and a stone around his neck. Again he prayed: "Lord, give me the sword." He was going to kill the woman and get rid of it, wanted to return to the good old days.
And again, the God laughed: "why not a cross? Shall I send you the cross?"
Man angry: "do not You think that this woman is worse than any cross? Send me a sword!"
Appeared a sword. Man killed woman, was arrested and sentenced to crucifixion.
And on the cross, praying to God, he laughed loudly: "God Forgive me! I didn't listen to you, but You asked should I send the cross from the beginning. If I did, I would get rid of all this unnecessary fuss."
People have forgotten how to bow
A young man asked an old Rabbi: "We heard in the past, in the old Golden days, people used to see God with their own eyes, people used to meet with God. God used to walk the earth. God used to call people by their names.
God was very close. What happened now? Why can't we see Him? Why is He hiding? Where did He go? Why He had forgotten the earth? Why is He no longer walks the earth? Why He no longer supports the hand of the people stumbling in darkness? Earlier He used to do it."
The old Rabbi looked at the disciple and said, "my Son, He is now where he was, but people have forgotten how to bow so low to see It"
The lesson of the butterfly
Once in the cocoon there was a small crack, happened to be passing by the long hours people stood and watched through the little slit trying to reach a butterfly. Been a long time, as if a butterfly has left its efforts, and the gap was so small. It seemed that the butterfly had done all I could, and that anything else she had no more strength.
Then the man decided to help the butterfly, he took a penknife and cut the cocoon. Butterfly immediately came out. But her body was weak and frail, her wings were transparent and barely moved.
The man continued to watch, thinking that the wings of a butterfly to finish and get stronger and it will fly. Nothing happened!
The rest of her life the butterfly had dragged her weak body, its nerasprodannye wings. She was unable to fly.
And all because of people wanting to help her, didn't understand that effort to get through the narrow gap of the cocoon, the butterfly needed that liquid from the body moved to the wings so that the butterfly could fly. Life forced the butterfly hard to leave this shell, so she can grow and develop.
Sometimes that force is necessary to us in life. If we are allowed to live without meeting difficulties, we would have been deprived. We would not be able to be as strong as it is now. We will never be able to fly.
Knowledge
- Everyone knows I'm not afraid of anything, - the Ruler said to the Wise, I do admit one fear in me is still present... the fear of death. and asked him: - What is death?
- How do I know?
But you are an enlightened Master!

The parable of the two wolves
Once upon a time the old Indian opened his grandson one vital truth.
- In every person there is a struggle, much like the struggle between two wolves. One wolf is evil - envy, jealousy, sorrow, selfishness, ambition, lies... the Other wolf is good - peace, love, hope, truth, kindness, loyalty...
Little Indian, touched to the core words of his grandfather, for a few moments thought, and then asked:
- And what a wolf at the end wins?
Old Indian barely perceptible smile and replied:
- Always wins the wolf that you feed.
The little God
It wasn't long after the gods created humanity and started to realize his mistake. After all, the gods were sure that the difference between them and mortals was the quality of those resources and capabilities they possessed. While people had their "I" and refers to the external , material world, the gods possessed the spirit, soul, and understanding how the inner world.
The danger was that sooner or later people will want the same.
And the gods decided to hide their precious resources. The question arose: "Where?" and this question became the reason of such a long and fierce controversy on the great conference of the gods.
Some have suggested to hide them on top of a tall mountain. But all understood. Sooner or later people will get to the tops of the highest mountains.
And deepest trench on the ocean floor will be open.
And sources go into the ground.
And the jungle can give away her secret.
And mechanical birds conquer the sky and space.
And the Moon, and the planet will become a place for walking tourists.
And even the wisest and most creative of the gods fell silent, because all you can explore and find, if you really want.
Finally the youngest of the gods, which had been silent up to this point, opened his mouth:
Why don't we put them inside of each person? They will never think of looking there.

The priest began grandly to make his way through the crowd to the teacher.
Bankei smiled. "Stand to my left." The priest obeyed. "No, - said the Bank - we could talk better if you'll be my right. Please go here." The priest with the dignity went right. "You see,- said the Bank,- you will obey me, and I think that you are a man thin and soft. Now sit down and listen."

They were written by Kozoom 200 years ago.
When the master wrote them, he painted them on paper first, which work, increasing, carried them to the tree. When Cozen painted letters, worked with him self-confident disciple, who had made several gallons of ink for the letter and never missed a chance to criticize the work of his master.
"This is not good," he told Kozena after his first effort.
"And this?" - "Bad. Even worse than before," said the student.

Can you work this miracle?" Bankei answered easily: "it is Very possible that your Fox could do this trick, but it is not in the tradition of Zen. My miracle is that when I am hungry, I eat, and if I want to drink - drink."

In one state, lived a young king. He was very haughty and overbearing. When he passed on his possessions, the people fell prostrate and cried,
- Vivat Imperator!
And behind was the Treasurer and gives them bent figures gold coins. People were ready to cut each other's throats for these coins from the Imperial Treasury, rummaging through mud in search of them. Those who do not obey and did not bow their heads before his lordship, which went behind the executioner chopped the head.
And then, one day, marching this way, he noticed one monk, who did not bow and besides - I went to meet him. The executioner, seeing this, hastened to beat the Emperor in order to cut the unruly head. As more than one head flew from his shoulders at the whim of the Emperor-the freethinker. And in that moment, when he had swung to behead disobedient, he heard the loud voice of his master:
Wait!
The young king rushed to this wandering dervish, fell on his knees and kissed his greasy coat.
The people resented this and began to scream with displeasure
- Vivat Imperator! hoping to be showered with gold coins. But the Emperor learned in this dervish of his father, who abdicated in his favor from the throne and went to seek the truth.
- Father, how glad I am that you're back!
- No, I never went back. I was on the edge of the earth and now go to the other side. But my way lies through your possessions...
It's your property! Father, it hurts me to see you in those wretched clothes. Treasurer, riprap him gold as used by the no!!!
- No, son. Just feed me or give me some coins so I could buy food. and stretched out his wooden bowl-bowl.
The Emperor ordered to fill a Cup. But when the Treasurer began to fill, it was empty. Then the Emperor was outraged and ordered to pour out a bag of gold. But the same thing happened with the Cup was empty.
Then the young king ordered to bring a supply of gold, he didn't care whether the empty Treasury of this before him was his father.
And now, on the fortieth cart, son exclaimed:
- Father, I do not understand, we poured back 40 supply of gold, but it's still empty!
- Son, I'm glad you're already on the 40th cart pondered this question. You too realized this sooner. I've refused from everything, threw it in his Kingdom, health, youth, everything that she had, but she as you can see - is still empty!
For this is the Cup of our desires and mind-numbing lust filling her take from us everything we have... we can put life, but the fuller it will become!
The taming of Ghost
One young woman fell ill and was near death.
"I love you so much,' she said to her husband.- I don't want to leave you. Don't leave me for another woman. If you do, I'll come back to you and a Ghost will cause you no trouble." Soon the wife died. Within three months, the husband fulfilled her last wish, and then met another woman and fell in love with her. They decided to get married.
Immediately after the engagement to her ex-husband every night became to be a Ghost, blaming him for what he did not keep his word. The Ghost was too smart. He just told the man what happened between him and his lover.
If the former husband was doing his bride a gift, the Ghost in detail described it.
He even repeated all their conversation, and it so annoyed the man that he couldn't sleep. Someone advised to contact him with my problem to a Zen master who lived near the village.
In desperation, the poor went to him for help.
"Your former wife became a Ghost and knows everything you do, said the teacher. - What would you do, or say, whatever they give to your girlfriend, she knows everything.
It should be - it's a very clever Ghost. You have to admire them. When your wife, the Ghost will appear next time, bargain with him. Tell me what she knows about you so much that you will not be able to hide anything from her and that if she'll answer one of your question, you promise to break your engagement and remain single." "What am I supposed to ask her?" - the man said.
The master replied: "Take a handful of soy beans and ask her to exactly say how many beans you have in your hand. If she can't answer, know that she is a figment of your imagination and will never bother you." The next night, when the Ghost appeared the man warmly greeted him, and said that the Ghost knows everything.
"Of course. - answered the Ghost. And I know that today you were at the Zen master." "If you know so much, demanding the man said, - tell me how many beans are in this hand?" More in front of him there was not a single Ghost that would answer this question.<
Maybe. But not yet dead.

My miracle is that when I am hungry, I eat, and if I want to drink - drink."

There is nothing better than emptiness
Someone asked the master Le Tzu:
- Why do you value emptiness?
- In emptiness there is nothing valuable, ' replied Le-Tzu continued. - It's not in the title. There is nothing better than rest, there is nothing better than emptiness. Alone, in the emptiness acquire your home, the desire to take lose your home. When things went bad, still won't return a game of "mercy" and "justice".
The Lord smiles on two occasions
There are two cases when the Lord cannot help smiling.
When a person is seriously ill and close to death, and the doctor tells the mother of a sick -" don't worry, I'll save him", the doctor forgets that at the heart of every event of life or death is the will of the Lord. And, hearing his words, the Lord smiles, thinking, "How stupid must be the man that boasts that will save the life of his patient, the dying according to My will."
And the Lord smiles when two brothers divide his estate. They measure the earth and say, "This part is mine and that part is yours."
And the Lord smiles, thinking: "the Whole universe belongs to Me, but these stupid brothers say: - This part is mine, this is yours."
I pray only once
In Bengal there lived a man, a very learned and very logical grammars. His name was Bathory. He was a very famous grammatica. He never went to the temple. He's old, he was over sixty when his father said, "Well, this is too much!"
His father was ninety years old.
- I went to Church and prayed every day! And I didn't say anything, thinking that he will come to understand yourself! But now, you're sixty! It's time to go and prepare for another world! So when you go to the temple to pray and praise God?
Bhagoji said in response:
Seeing you repeatedly coming to the temple and returning the same, I doubt whether the question of how many years and how many times you pray. It seems the question is how you pray, the only question is quality. I've been watching you. Twice a day you went to the temple and came back the same! So, prayer does not work? No, something here not so! Tomorrow is my birthday. I'll go to the temple and do whatever is in my power. I will try to invest in prayer himself, his whole soul. I pray only once - but I'm not leaving anything inside. I will try to get into it - but only once. If something is meant to happen it will happen. If nothing, then I will leave it there. And why go again, again this will have no benefit? Then it's just pointless!
His father laughed and said:
- Oh, Lord! what a fool! And pass for the most learned person! Yes you need to pray whole life in a row so something has happened! Well, God be with you, Yes He will enlighten your brain! Come on, come on! Let's see what you get!
Bhagoji went to the temple and never returned. He died. Only once praying before the deity of the temple, he died. It really is entirely included in that - and there is nothing left.
The book of life
One Eastern Lord wanted to know the history of mankind. The sage brought him five hundred volumes. Busy with Affairs of state, the king sent him away and ordered him to explain all this in more condensed form.
In twenty years the sage returned and the history of mankind took now only fifty volumes, but the king was already too old to overcome so many thick books, and again sent of the sage.
It took another twenty years, and aged, gray-haired sage brought the Lord a single volume containing all the wisdom of the world, which he thirsted to know. But the king lay on his deathbed, and he had no time to read even this one book.
Then the sage gave him the history of mankind in one line, and it read: "Man is born, suffers and dies".
Where God dwells?
The hermit in the orange robe came once to the village, where it was chock-full of non-believers. He was surrounded by the youth, summoning him to show where God dwells, they so deeply revered. He said he can do it, but first let him give him a Cup of milk.
When the milk set before him, he did not drink it, but slowly and silently stared at him with growing curiosity. Young people are impatient, their demands became more insistent. Then the hermit said to them:
- Wait a minute; they say that milk contains butter, but in this Cup, no matter how I tried, did not see it.
The youth began to laugh at his naivete.
- Silly man! Don't make such ridiculous conclusions. In every drop of milk contains butter, it makes it nutritious. To get and see it, you need to boil the milk, cool it, add yogurt, wait a few hours, so it curled up, then knock down and remove the lump of butter that appears on the surface.
- Ah so! said the ascetic, now is much easier for me to explain to you where God dwells. He is everywhere, in every being, in every atom of the Universe, making all of them exist and we perceive them and enjoy them. But to see It as a real entity, you must be strictly, earnestly and sincerely to follow the prescribed rules. Then, at the end of this process, you will feel His mercy and His power
The most valuable
The student asked the Zen master Sojana:
- What is the most valuable?
- The head of a dead cat, - the teacher answered.
- Why did the head of a dead cat the most valuable thing in the world? - tried to find out the student.
Because no one can name its price was Sojan.
Nails of anger
There was a young man with a bad temper. Father gave him a bag full of nails and said:
- Hammer one nail in the garden gate every time you lose patience or quarrels with anyone.
The first day he hammered in 37 nails in the garden gate. In the weeks that followed he learned to control the amount of hammered nails, reducing his day-to-day: I realized that it is easier to control himself than to hammer nails. Finally, the day came when the boy didn't score a single nail in the garden gate. Then he came to father and told him the news.
Then the father said to the lad:
- Take out one nail from the gate every time will not lose patience.
Finally, the day came when the young man was able to tell his father that all the nails pulled. The father had brought his son to the garden gate:
- Son, you behaved well, but look how many holes left on the gate!
They will not be like before. When you're with someone you swear and say nasty things to him, you leave him with wounds like those on the gate. Can stick a knife and then pull it out, but will always remain wound. And it will not matter how many times you apologize. The wound will remain. The wound made by words, causes the same pain as physical. Friends are a rare treasure! They make you smile and cheer. They are always ready to listen to you. They support and open my heart to you. Show your friends they matter to you.<
Someone asked the master Le Tzu:

Come one
It so happened that Minsk came to his Master.
He sat in the temple. When Minsk became. The master said:
The Minsk, come one! Do not bring this crowd!
The Minsk looked around because I thought that he brought someone else.
But there was none.
Master laughed and said:
- Don't look back, and look inside!
The Minsk closed my eyes and realized that Master was right. He left his wife, but his mind aspired to it; he left his children but their images were with him; and friends who came to the last time to say goodbye to him, they were still with him, in his mind.
The master said:
- Come and come alone because I can talk with this crowd?
And Minsk had to wait outside the temple to break free from the crowd. A year later, the Master called him:
Now, Minsk, you are ready to enter. Now you're one, and dialogue is possible.
Buddha-Nature
The student asked Nagasena:
- Buddhist Scriptures claim that everything is endowed with Buddha-nature.
Do I have Buddha-nature?
- No, you don't have! said Nagsen. The monk asked:
Trees, rivers and mountains have a Buddha nature?
Yes, I have! - he replied.
- If everything has Buddha nature, then why do I not have? asked the monk.
- Cats and dogs, mountains and rivers - everything has Buddha-nature, and you - no!
- But why? - asked the disciple.
- Because you ask! said Nagsen.
Awake!
When Buddha became enlightened, he exclaimed:
- It's incredible! So I was enlightened, and all these chains and shackles was a dream!
Subsequently, when people asked him:
"What can we do to get rid of defects?", The Buddha always replied:
"Be conscious, let your life awareness".
Listening to him, Ananda, one of his disciples asked:
- People come to you with different problems, and you've got all the diseases one recipe. For example, one person asks: "How to get rid of anger?", you answer him: "Be aware!"
Another asks: "How to get rid of greed?", you answer him: "Be aware!"
The third asks: "How to get rid of binge eating?", you also suggest: "Show awareness".
How to understand this?
The Buddha replied:
Their diseases are different from each other, how different dreams, which dreams of different people. But if they all come to me and ask, I'll tell them: "become aware! Wake up!"
Just go your own way
One of the disciples asked the Buddha:
- If anybody's hit, what should I do?
The Buddha replied:
- If you have the tree fall dry branch and hit you, what should you do?
The student said:
- What am I gonna do? It's a simple coincidence, a coincidence that I was under a tree when it has fallen dry branch.
The Buddha said:
- So do the same. Someone was mad, was angry, and hit you. It's like that branch of a tree fell on you. Don't let this trouble you, just go on your way like nothing happened.
To find their I
Maulungaputra, seeker of truth, came to Buddha. Buddha asked him:
- What are you looking for?
Maulungaputra said:
I'm looking for myself. Help me!
Buddha promised to help him if he will do what he says.
Maulungaputra wept, and said:
- How can I promise? Me no - me yet how can I promise? I don't know what I'll do tomorrow, I have no "me" who could promise, so don't ask for the impossible. I'll try. The most I can say is "I'll try." But I can't say that it will, because who will do it? I'm looking for something that can promise and
to keep promises. Me yet.
The Buddha said:
- Maulungaputra, I asked you this question to hear it. If you promised, I would have refused you. If you said, "I promise I'll do it," then I'd know that you're not a real seeker himself, because the seeker must know that he is not yet. Otherwise, what's the point in looking?
If you already have, there is no need. You don't! And if the person can feel it, the ego will evaporate.
Enlightenment
The young man just become a monk had a dream. Clear, bright, as if not a dream at all but reality. In the dream he saw a monk-hermit - happy, glowing from the inside.
The gray-haired man, with a long shaggy beard, wearing rotten clothes, and he sat at his hut, high in the mountains. Nearby the river flowed, flowered shrub, birds were singing and the sky above him seemed bottomless. And he realized that in his dream he was Dedicated to the man who has known the essence of things and discovered the light of truth.
The young monk recognized in this man his Teacher In the morning the young man asked the coach: "What could mean this dream?" The coach shook his head and replied, "Only one - you should go and look for that monk. He is your Teacher. Until then, until you find him, you will not awake."
The young man hastily got together and went looking. Where to go, he did not know, and so went at random. He went to the mountains. His way was long, the years flew by each other - spring succeeded winter, fall again and again come summer. The young man had already lost track of time. He lived his dream.
It came with lots of mountains, was in many monasteries. And everywhere asked the hermit with a shaggy beard that lives high in the mountains in a lonely hut. "Yes, - answered him. - We heard about this man. Go over there, saw him there, on the mountain top". And the young man was.
But at some point in his heart still settled despair. "How else would I go? he asked himself. - "How can I be, if I can't find your Teacher?" he thought, and his heart was full of longing and sadness.
"If I need to stop looking and return?" - this question led him in horror.
The young man was exhausted. He was ready to stop. But now to come home? He wandered for a long time that I forgot the way back. And what will he say to his mentor? "No, I must go on. - said the young man. - I have to find my Teacher! I'll do it at any cost!"
And his path continued, though it was this young man without hope in your heart, without faith in success. It was simply because you decided to go. And lo! This cabin! He learned it! Here is the Creek and the flowering Bush! And the birds! Yes, there are singing those birds who once dreamed to him in a dream!
The young man ran into the hut. "Teacher! Teacher!" - he shouted, with tears of joy. But the cabin was completely empty, there was not even a trace of life. The young man left the cabin and began to search the area around. But nothing talked about the fact that there ever lived a man.
Exhausted, the boy fell into the river and exclaimed: "I give up! I lost! I'm going back!" But then his eyes fell on the water surface... the water looked absolutely gray-haired old man with a long shaggy beard, decayed clothing. And around, under the bottomless sky, blooming bushes and sang those same birds.
Donkey
Once the father with his son and a donkey traveled to a midday heat through the dusty streets of the city. Father sat astride the donkey, and the son led him by the bridle.
- Poor boy, ' said a passer-by, his little legs barely kept pace with the donkey. How you can is lazy to sit on a donkey when they see that the boy absolutely exhausted?
The father took his words to heart. When they turned the corner, he got down from the donkey and told his son to sit on him.
Very soon they met another person. With a loud voice he said:
- What a shame! Small sits astride a donkey as the Sultan, and his poor old father runs after him. The boy was very much afflicted from these words and asked the father to sit on the donkey
behind him.
- People kind, saw you anywhere like that? - wail of the woman under the veil.
- So to torment an animal! The poor donkey has sagged ridge, and old and young idlers sit on him like he was a sofa, on a poor creature!
Without a word father and son, confounded, climbed down from the donkey. They barely took a few steps, as they had encountered the man began to taunt them:
- That it is your donkey does of nothing, no benefit and not even
lucky somebody from you on itself?
The father put to a donkey a full handful of straw and put a hand on the shoulder of the son.
- Whatever we did - he said, - obyazatelno will be someone who with us will not agree. I think we should decide how we travel.
The monk and the prostitute
Once the monk died. He was a very famous monk, he knew the whole country. Many revered him and felt enlightened. And on the same day died a prostitute. She lived directly opposite the monastery of that monk. She was also a very famous prostitute, no less famous than the monk. They were direct opposites, which exist next door to each other, and they died on the same day.
Were the Angels of death and offered the monk to Heaven; there came other Angels of death and dragged a prostitute in Hell. But when the Angels got to Heaven, they found the gates closed, and stood at the gate said, "You got them mixed up. That monk should be sent to Hell, and the prostitute should go to Heaven".
"What are you talking about? - amazed the Angels. This man is a very famous ascetic, constantly meditirovaniya and praying. We did not even clarify, and directly went and brought it. And a prostitute is probably in Hell, because the other Angels dragged her there.
We never thought to ask, it seemed obvious."
And said standing on the gate: "You are confused because you have looked only at the appearance. This monk was using meditation to outperform others, and about himself, he always thought:
"I spend my time. How lovely is the prostitute that lives across the street and so accessible. At any time, and should I cross the street. I'm doing a bunch of nonsense, nonsense - pray, sit in the Buddha pose, and achieve nothing". But for fear of losing reputation, he did not dare to do it".
He sat in front of a statue of Buddha, but no Buddha was before his eyes. He is not worshipped; he dreamed of how he would listen to the sounds of fun and in my dreams was doing with this prostitute love.
And what about prostitutes? She always repented, confessed and repented, she knew I wasted my life in vain. And for what? Just for the sake of money, selling their body and soul. She always looked in the direction where stood the monastery, so jealous of the quiet righteous life that went on behind the gates of the monastery. What a wonderful meditation happened there?
She longed to God to give her at least one chance to enter the temple. But she thought: "I am a prostitute, the ungodly, I should not approach the temple." So she loved to walk around the temple outside, at least to look at it from the street. What beauty, what silence, what a blessing there! And when there was kirtan and Bhajan, singing and dancing, she sometimes wept, and wept, and sobbed, imagining what it lacks.
So standing at the gate said, "bring the prostitute to Heaven and the monk that cast to Hell. Their external life was different and life was different, but, like any other, they were both sorry".
Really?
Zen Master Hakuin had a reputation among the neighbors of a person living a blameless life. Nearby lived a beautiful girl, whose parents kept a grocery shop.
One day the parents found that their daughter is pregnant.
They were furious.
The girl refused to name the father of the child, but after much insistence called Hakuin. In great anger the parents came to the Master.
"Really?" - the only thing he said in response to an avalanche of their accusations.
When the child was born, it was brought to Hakuin with the words:
"It's your baby, so take it!"
Master only said: "Really?"
By the time he lost all the respect of others, but it didn't bother him.
He carefully nursed the baby, took the neighbors milk and all the necessary baby.
A year later young mother has still not told her parents the truth.
The real father of the child was a young man working at the fish market. The father and mother of the girl immediately ran to Aquino, began to ask for his forgiveness, apologized to him and asked them to return the child. Hakuin freely forgave them. Returning the child, he said only: "Really?"
He was a man who trusted in existence. He accepted whatever happened.
For him there was no problem. Learn something from him!
Come back in a week
One woman brought her child to the doctor and said, "my child has the habit of eating a lot of sugar and is bad."
The doctor said, "Bring the child to me in a week."
After returning home, the mother thought the doctor will probably be during the week to prepare the medicine.
A week later, they again visited the doctor. The doctor took the child in his arms, looked him in the eye and said, "Dear child, there is sugar harmful. You will never have to eat sugar. Do you understand?"
This led the mother in confusion and she asked: "If that's all you had to say, then why didn't you tell us this the first time we were here? Why we had to come a second time?"
The doctor told her: "last week I wasn't ready to say it baby, because then I also had the habit of eating sugar. Just this week I stopped eating it and in my experience I learned that there is sugar really harmful.
Now I can tell other people that they shouldn't eat sugar. My words will be effective, as confirmed by practice and willpower, and therefore is able to influence others."
A lesson from a slave
There was once a Saint who was a slave. He asked the servant:
- What would you like to eat?
The servant replied:
- All that you give me.
- What would you like to wear?
- All that you give me I'll wear.
- Then, where would you like to live?
He replied:
Where you put me.
- What would you hotelelt?
RAB said:
- Any job you give me, I'm going to do.
Then the Holy bitterly lamented, "Oh my God, this man gave me and works like a slave. But I was not able to be Your true disciple. I couldn't give myself to Thee, and to sacrifice their will as this man did. He has no will of it's own. He gave up all his desires, all needs, all requests, he has nothing left. If I could do what this man did, would it do me good."
Life, not logic
One day, a monk Lin-Chi surprised everyone. When he died his master, Lin-Chi began to cry. He stood, and tears flowed down his cheeks. His friends were perplexed:
- What are you doing? There were so many people, and they are all shocked by your behavior. Their thoughts written on their faces: "Incredible! It just can't be! Lin-Chi was crying! We thought he was completely bound, and his spirit is free. And now he's crying! He taught us that the soul is immortal, that only the body dies; the body is the material shell that wears out and returns to the earth. Why today is he crying?" And we, your friends, also can not understand you. You taught me that the key is detachment. Why you are tied to your teacher? Stop crying, and then people will think you're not enlightened.
In response, Lin-Chi answered:
- Your question is logical. But what do I do? Tears flow and I cry. For me the most was the discovery that I was crying. I'm very surprised. But what can I do? So me evidence of life. And I will not suppress its manifestation. I always took it as a whole. I don't care what people think. I'm not crying because he died, no one dies. I'm crying because I no longer have the opportunity to look into his eyes and hear his wonderful voice. What people think doesn't matter. Let the unenlightened think of me. To me something to this?!<

Happiness
God molded man from clay, and remained with him the unused piece.
That still dazzle you? - God asked.
- Blind me happiness asked people.
Nothing God answered, and only put the man in the palm of the remaining piece of clay.
Buddha is waiting for
There is a tradition: the Buddha stopped at the gates of Heaven.
To achieve this goal, he worked hard all his life. The gates were opened. The music was playing. It was celebration and jubilation, because a man rarely rose to such heights.
The gatekeepers opened the gate and went out to meet and invited the Buddha:
- You have arrived! Come in! We are happy to welcome you!
But they were surprised. Buddha looked sad. He could not think in this moment of bliss. He thought about the millions of lost souls, the afflicted, not knowing what to do. They need his help! The Buddha said to the gatekeepers:
- Please close the gates! I can't log in. I'm going to wait until all people will not enter these gates. Might take forever, but it doesn't matter.
I see millions of sad faces, hearts full of tears, people who never knew the joy. Close the door, I will come in last.
Buddha still stands outside the gates of Paradise and lights the way for everyone who goes through a mountain.
Words are not necessary
Bass, Zen Masters said
- Tell us something about your conversations. You speak and thus opposes words. You say: "He who knows he is silent!" But you are silent! How to understand this?
Bass said:
- Say others, I color!
Life can't wait
Master MA-Tzu, trying to show his disciples a meditation, said:
- If you utter one more word, I will give you thirty blows with my stick, but if you don't say a word, the same, thirty blows of my stick. Now speak, speak!
One student came forward and was going to just bow to the Master, but received a blow. The student protested:
- I did not utter a single word and You didn't let me utter a word. What is the impact? Master laughed and said:
- If I wait for you, your speech, your silence... too late. Life can't wait.
No work, no food
Chinese Master of Zen Hakaze even at eighty years old, worked together with the students, caring for the garden. He cleared trails, trimmed trees and dug up the ground. The pupils felt sorry to see his old teachers for the hard work. Knowing that he won't listen to their advice to leave her, they decided to hide his tools.
On this day the teacher did not have. The next day he again did not eat. And on the third day he continued to starve. "He must be angry that we hid the tools - thought of the disciples. - Put a minute, we better back them".
That day the Master worked and ate as before. In the evening, instructing the disciples, he said:
- No work, no food!
School of Zen
Mentors teach their Zen students directly to Express their feelings.
One boy lived near the children's Zen monastery and often met the boy from the convent, who every morning went to the market for vegetables.
Once at the meeting, he asked the boy from the monastery:
- Where are you going?
He replied:
- Where his legs are!
The boy was puzzled and in the evening asked for advice from his father.
- Next time you meet ask him the same question. He will respond also, and you then ask: "And if you had no feet then where would you go? It will surprise him".
In the morning the children met again.
- Where are you going? - asked the boy.
- Where the wind blows - was the answer.
This confused the child and he told his father about the failure. "And you ask him next time where he would go if it were not for the wind," suggested father.
The next morning the children met again.
- Where are you going? - asked the boy.
- The market for vegetables, ' was the immediate response.
I came home
One day the Bank burnt a Buddhist Scripture.
The disciples asked him:
- Master, what are You doing? You have always taught these Scriptures, comment on them and pondered. Why do You burn them?
Master laughed and said:
- Because I came home. Cards I no longer need.
This anger isn't you
The Wizard's apprentice Bankia asked him:
- I have a violent temper, I want him to be free, but I can't. What am I to do?
Bankei did not say a word, just looked deeply into his eyes, he was sweating suddenly. He wanted to break the silence, but he didn't dare.
Finally, the Bank smiled and said:
- Weird! Iskan and I was looking for, but couldn't find the anger inside of you. Show me some anger, here and now.
The student said:
- He's not always here. It manifests itself suddenly. How can I show him now?
Bankei smiled again and said,
- Then it's not your true nature, which remains with you forever; and if your anger was a part of you, you would be able to show it to me. When you were born, with you it was not. When you die, you will not. This anger is not you. Somewhere there is a mistake. Go away and think. Look! Meditate!
Laughing saints
Discuss the three laughing saints. They moved from one city to another and laughed.
Usually they stayed in the market square and laughed a deep booming laugh. Their bellies were shaking and tears were rolling from his eyes. It was so contagious that everyone present began to laugh. The fun spread like lightning. From all sides to him people were running and just by looking at them, began to laugh. It was a miracle. Only a few minutes ago, there was
a completely different atmosphere. Tired people arguing, bargaining. Everybody was only interested in money. And suddenly everything changed! People forgot that I came here to buy and sell, they were laughing and dancing around these three crazy.
Laughing saints traveled across China from one place to another, from one village to another, just helping people to laugh. In just a few seconds they opened up a new world to people.
Suddenly in one village one of the three died. The villagers thought: "even now, then they will not be able to laugh. Their friend is dead; they must weep."
But when they came, they saw that these two danced, laughed, celebrated. The villagers decided, "Well, this is too much! It's rude. When a person dies, obscene, to laugh and dance".
But the two laughing said,
- Between us we made one of us dies first. And that person won. My whole life we laughed with him. We can't do it the last way differently. We should laugh, we should rejoice and celebrate. Otherwise he will laugh at us from the other side and think "That's stupid! Again fell into the trap!"
And then the unexpected happened. When the body was placed on a funeral pyre and people become sad, suddenly started to explode and pop colorful firecrackers and fireworks that were hidden in the clothes of the deceased.
These two crazy friends were dancing and they were dancing and the whole village is laughing through tears. Because death is an illusion, and the illusion is death.
From this village, along with two smiling Chinese was gone and a young guy who never get discouraged and is very contagious laugh!
Empty boat
Lin-Chi said: "When I was young, I liked riding the boat; I had a little boat: alone, I went to swim in the lake and could stay hours there.
Once I was sitting with my eyes closed and meditated. Was a great night. Kind of an empty boat adrift and blew my. I felt anger!
I opened my eyes and was about to curse that bothered me, but I saw that the boat was empty. My anger had nowhere to move. Who I was then? I had nothing to do but to close your eyes and begin to look closely to his anger. In that moment, when I saw it, I took the first step on my Way.
In this quiet night I went to the center within yourself. Empty boat became my teacher. Since then, if someone tried to hurt me and I was raised anger, I laughed and said, "This boat is also empty. I closed my eyes and went inside himself."
Do not pretend and do not undercut!
Lin-Chi was in the temple when there came a young man, and sat down with closed eyes, in a frozen pose. He wanted to become a student and hoped to impress the Master.
Lin-Chi came up and, knocking his knuckles on the head, said
- Get up and go! In our Church enough statues.
The young man was very distressed. Lin-Chi said:
- Be alive! Do not pretend and do not undercut!
Inner nature
Lin-Chi said to the audience that everyone needs to show their inner nature. From the audience came the question:
- But how to do it if I don't know who I am?
Lin-Chi stopped talking. All alert. What he will answer? But he did not answer. He got down from his chair and made his way to the person who asked the question. All watched intently. People even stopped breathing. What's he going to do? He could answer from your chair! His actions was not necessary.
Lin-Chi came closer, eyeing the man's gaze, put a hand on his shoulder and said:
- Close your eyes and remember the one who asked the question.
The man closed his eyes and went inside to search for the person who asked the question.
People were waiting, watching him. His face was calm, peaceful, quiet. Then Lin-Chi had to shock him:

Don't mind
Lin-Chi was sitting on the river Bank when he was approached by the philosopher, bowed and asked: "What is the essence of your teachings?"
Lin Chi looked at him and did not utter a single word. The philosopher thought to himself: "He is very old, perhaps, and deaf" and shouted:
- You don't seem to hear me! I ask: what is the essence of your message?
Lin-Chi laughed. The philosopher thought, "something strange. At first he did not answer, laughing now! Maybe he's pretending to listen to me? But since he didn't answer my question, so he didn't hear anything".
And then the scientist cried out even louder:
- What is the essence of your teachings? Lin-Chi said quietly:
- I answered - silence. But You couldn't understand and I had to go down a little lower. I said of laughter, joy. But You are unable to understand even that. So I have to go down even lower.
And he wrote with the finger on the sand "meditation," saying, "This is my doctrine."
The scientist asked:
- Could You clarify your idea, to make it more clear.
Then Lin-Chi wrote in the sand bigger letters: MEDITATION.
The philosopher was becoming more and more exasperated and asked,
Are you kidding me? I ask you to clarify, Refine your idea, and You write the same thing, only in larger letters. I am a Professor of philosophy!
Lin-Chi said:
- Why did You just not say it! And he wrote: don'T MIND.
The Professor tapped himself on the head and left without even saying goodbye.
Bokujou
There was a Master Bokuju. He lived in the cave during the day or even night said aloud: "Bokuju?", and then he said, "I'm here."
The students quietly laughed at him.
In the last years of his life he had not called himself by name. The disciples once asked him:
- Why did you do that? And he answered:
- I used to get lost, so I asked, but now it's not necessary. Bokujou always here.
Reality and not a dream
One morning Bokujou woke up and immediately called a senior disciple, saying:
- Look, I had a dream. Can you interpret his sign?
The student replied:
- Wait! First, I'll get you some water so You could wash her face.
He brought a jug of water and helped the Master to wash. At this time, I passed by another student. The master said:
- Look, I had a dream. Can you give its interpretation?
- I'll bring You a Cup of tea! - said the student and walked away.
Another student heard the Master's words, he came closer and asked:
- What kind of dream You had?
And in response got hit with a bamboo stick on the head. The two disciples and the Master burst into a loud laugh.
Feel it!
The disciple asked:
- What is Nirvana? The master answered:
- Not to entrust himself to the vicious circle of birth and death or pleasure and pain is great Nirvana.
- What is the cycle of birth and death and pleasure and pain?
The master said:
- Desire Nirvana! Now be silent and feel what I mean, saying "the Desire of Nirvana." And note I don't say, "Think about it". Because to think means to miss. Feel it! Feel it! Feel it!
Give yourself the freedom
The student asked Nagasena:
- What is the Way?
- The path is the everyday life, - answered Nagsen.
- Is it possible to learn this? - asked the disciple.
- If you try to learn, say Nagsen, you will be away from the Path.
But if I don't learn, then how can I know what is the Path? - asked the disciple.
- The path does not belong to the perceived world. He also belongs to the unperceived world. Cognition is an illusion, neponimanie - nonsense. If you want to reach the true Path, give yourself the freedom that is the Sky.
The temptation
Two monks were walking from one monastery to another. On the way they had to Wade across the tumultuous river. When they approached the Ford, they asked the girl to help her to cross. One of the monks silently lifted the girl on hands and moved to the other side of the river, the second reacted to such a thing frowned upon.
After crossing the river, they started walking his way. Two hours later the second monk turned to his companion, said:
- Still you did the wrong thing. The Scriptures forbid us to touch the women, and especially to hold them. You're not supposed to do that.
The second monk replied:
- I moved it to the other side for one minute and immediately forgot about it. You still carry her in my thoughts.
A slap in the face
Any talented person took Akbar to the court and generously. Great artists, dancers, philosophers shone in his environment.
One day he talked with nine of your best friends. It was nine of the most talented creative people, And Akbar had some quirks; he suddenly could do something like that... And of course the king will not ask, "Why?"
Suddenly, he was hit in the face a man standing nearby. It was the most intelligent man in the court. His name was Birbal. Birbal waited a second, probably thinking what to do; however, doing something is needed! He turned around and slapped the man standing next to him. It was one of the Ministers.
Pretty business! This man could not understand: "What's happening? What kind of joke is this?".
But now there was nothing to worry about. After all Birbal "opened the door"! Without hesitation, the Minister slapped on the ear next. Say this slap in the face I walked around the capital.
A night of Akbar suddenly punched his own wife. He said
- What are you doing? She said
I don't know what it is, but it's happening all over the capital. Today I also hit your senior wife. She's older than me, so I couldn't return it. Except you I have nobody to hit.
- Wow - said Akbar. - My own slap in the face came back to me.
How to find God?
One evening, after a hot day, Sheikh Farid went to the river. He was approached by a young man and asked:
- How to find God?
Farid grabbed him by the collar and forcefully dunked in water with his head. He tried to escape, but the Master held him tight.
When the time has come, young man, trying to resist, broke. Panting, he cried:
- Why did You do it?
- When you want to find God as much as he wanted to breathe, - said Farid, then you will be able to find It.
Mature soul
The disciples once asked Farida:
- They say that Jesus did not experience physical pain on the cross when he was crucified. How can this be? Say, when Mansour, cut off the hands and feet, he smiled. When he gouged out his eyes, on his face is not reflected, nor any agony of pain. How is that possible?
Farid stripped from the tree green walnut, handed it to the disciple and said:
- Split nut so as not to damage the core.
The student replied that this is impossible. Farid asked:
And at the ripe nut it is possible to separate the shell without damaging the kernel?
- With ripe nut no problem, ' replied the student.
- All right, - said Farid. - But you yourself gave the answer to your question. In most people the soul is totally fused with the body. If hurt the body, hurt and soul. But there are other people; their soul is so free that has a body like a shell. Damaging their body, it is impossible to damage their souls. Jesus and Mansur were people, like the ripe nut.
God is everywhere
Nanak, founder of Sikhism, was a simple and beautiful person. He had only one disciple, whom he never taught. He just sang enthusiastically, and the student he sang and played on a simple musical instrument.
Tell you a story. One day Nanak went to travel. He walked around Arabia and went to Mecca where the Muslim Shrine - the black stone of the Kaaba.
It was too late. Nanak prayed and lay down to rest. But he was approached by the guardians of the Shrine and said such behavior seems to them incredible:
You came from India where people know how to be respectful. You lay down with their feet towards the Holy stone. It hurts our religious feelings. For us, this stone is God, it incorporates the divine.
Nanak said:
- You said that your God is enclosed in this stone, but my God is not enclosed in anything. So everywhere I turned their feet, He will be there!
About the values of life
Once a sage, standing in front of his students did the following. He took a large glass jar and filled it to the brim with large rocks. Having done this, he asked his disciples, full of a vessel. All confirmed that the full. Then the sage picked up a box of small pebbles and poured it into the jar several times and gently shook him. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the rocks and filled them. After that, he again asked students whether the vessel is full now. They again confirmed the fact full.
Finally the sage took from the table a box of sand and poured it into the vessel. The sand of course filled the last gaps in the vessel.
"Now," asked the sage to his disciples,- "I wish you could kill your life! Large rocks represent the important things in life: your family, your loved one, your health, your children - those things that even if everything else will still be able to fill your life.
Pebbles represent less important things, such as, for example, your job, your apartment, your house or your car.The sand symbolizes life's little things, the everyday hustle and bustle.
If you fill your tank first sand, then there will be no room for larger stones. Also in all your energy use up on small things, big things to have nothing left.
So pay attention primarily on the important things, find time for your children and loved ones, watch your health. Do you still have enough time for work, for home, for celebrations and all. Follow your big rocks - only they have a price - everything else is sinking sand."
The world and we
Once upon a time there was a king who built a great Palace. It was a Palace with millions of mirrors. Absolutely all walls, floors and ceilings of the Palace were covered with mirrors. Once in the Palace ran the dog. Looking around, she saw a lot of dogs around. Dogs were everywhere. Being highly intelligent dog, she grinned to just in case to protect yourself from these millions of dogs surrounded her and scare them. All dogs grinned in response. She growled with menace replied. Now the dog was sure that her life is in danger, and started barking. She had to strain, she began to bark with all his strength, desperate. But when she barked, the millions of dogs started barking. And the more she barked, the more
they answered her.
In the morning, this poor dog was found dead. And she was there alone in the Palace was only millions of mirrors. No one fought with her, did not have anyone who could fight, but she saw herself in the mirror and got scared. And when she began to fight, reflection in the mirrors, too, joined in the fight. She died in a struggle with millions of reflections of himself that surround it.
If there are no obstacles inside of You that there can be no obstacles and outward, nothing can stand in Your way. That's the law. The world is just a reflection, it is a huge mirror.
The rich and the Poor
The great prophet Moses was on his way to the Lord to ask him to continue his business, when he met a beggar who asked:
"Where you going, Moses?"
"I'm going to meet God."
"When you see him, tell, please, that I am poor and don't know how to improve their lives."
Moses promised to send. Soon he saw a very rich man, who asked: "Where you going, Moses?"
"I go to the Lord."
"When you see him, ask him - what do I do? I am a wealthy man and yet the Lord continues to shower me with gold."
Moses undertook to convey this request. Soon he saw the Lord and said, "God! I came to you to ask how I can go about my business, and I need advice for the two people I met along the way."
The Lord answered him:
"Oh, Moses! You ask me as you continue your work, but the case of these people shows that you didn't do what you could do is to give to the poor the surplus of the rich. How can I charge you more if you don't do what should have been done?"
Perfect Master
A man decided that he would seek the perfect master. He read many books, visited sage for the sage, listened, discussed and practiced, but always he found himself doubting and insecure. Twenty years later, he met a man, every word and every action which was consistent with his idea of a fully realized person. The traveler did not waste time: "You, - he said, - seem to me to be the perfect Master. If you are, then my journey came to an end."
"Do they call me that name," said the Wizard.
"Then I beg you to accept me as a disciple."
"This, - said the Master, I can not do. Because while you may desire the perfect Master, he, in turn, requires only the perfect pupil."
Wahab Imrie
A man came to Wahab Imrie and said, "Teach me humility". Wahab replied: "I can't do that, because modesty is a teacher herself. She learns by practicing it. If you can't practice it, then you can't learn it. If you can't learn her, but inside you really don't want to learn it."
Master and teacup
One Master was traveling incognito with the students. They stopped at the caravansary for the night. In the morning the owner served Breakfast and tea. When they began drinking tea, the master suddenly fell to the feet of the Master. The disciples were very surprised. Where the owner could see that among them the Master? Who revealed the secret owner of the caravanserai? Master laughed and said:
Don't be surprised, ask him how he knew me.
The disciples asked the owner a question:
- How did you know he was a Wizard?
- I could not know, - said the master. For many years I lay the table for my guests. I've seen thousands of people, but I've never met a person who so lovingly would look at a tea Cup.
I choose bliss
Master Bahaudin his whole life was happy, the smile never left his face. His whole life was saturated with the fragrance of the holiday!
Even dying he was laughing merrily. It seemed like he was enjoying the arrival of death.
His students were sitting around and one of them asked:
- Why are You laughing? All your life You laughed and we all did not dare to ask, how do You do it? And now, in the last minute, You're laughing! What's funny here?
The old Master replied:
Many years ago I came to my Master as a young man, seventeen years old, he was deeply afflicted. The master was seventy, and he was smiling and laughing for no apparent reason. I asked him: "How do You do it?" And he said, "Inside I'm free to choose. It is just my choice. Every morning when I open my eyes, I ask myself, what to choose bliss or suffering? And so it happens that I choose the bliss, it's only natural".

I was waiting for you
Once to the Hasidic Master Naftali said. He opened the door and as usual asked:
- Why are you here? The man replied:
I've come to learn from You. Naftali said:
- Look for someone with whom you will study Scripture.
So saying, he closed the door. His wife asked him:
- Why you sent him away? He seems to be genuinely eager.
Naftali said:
Those who are interested in the study of the Scriptures, for the most part stupid. They just want to hide behind it.
Time passed and at his door knocked again. Naftali opened the door and asked:
- What do you want? The man replied:
I came to be near You, to learn from You to serve humanity.
- Get out, - said Naftali. You got the wrong address.
The wife again asked:
- Why are you and this drove? Such a pure soul, seeks to serve humanity. From it could be helpful.
- He who does not know himself, - said Naftali, does not serve anyone else. From his service nothing but trouble.
Once in the door the Wizard was another knock. Naftali opened the door and asked:
What do you have? The man replied:
- I'm clueless and would like to get rid of it. Could You help me with this?
Naftali said:
- Come in, I was waiting for you.
Fall and get up, still alive!
One student asked his mentor-Sufi:
- Teacher, what would you say if he knew about my fall?
- Get up!
- And the next time?
Again get up!
- And how long it may last - to fall and rise?
- Fall and get up, still alive! After all, those who fell and did not rise, the dead.<

God sees everything
Many people believe that their interest in the subject is adequate preparation. Moreover, they can't believe others might have the ability of perception, while they have to wait.
The Minsk was once illustrated this on the obvious level, when some of his twenty students jealously reacted to his affection for one of them. Parable-in-action, which he invented, is worth to think over it.
He called all his disciples and told them to bring twenty chickens.
Each was said to carry one bird back where no one will see, and kill her.
When they returned, the birds were dead, all except the one that took the student.
The Minsk in the presence of the other disciples asked him why he didn't kill his bird.
"You told me to go where I can't be seen, but no such thing: God sees everything," the man replied.
And it will pass
A powerful king, ruler of many lands, has reached such spiritual heights that the wise men were its rank and file improvised. Yet somehow the confusion has seized it, and he called together the sages, said:
- I don't know why, but something makes me look for a ring that would help me to maintain peace of mind. I should have this ring. It must be such that, when I'm unhappy, it would make me happy. At the same time, if I am happy and look at him, I should feel sadness.
The sages conferred among themselves, then plunged in deep thought, and finally came to the decision what kind of ring would meet the requirements of the king.
The ring which they presented, was carved the inscription: "THIS too shall PASS".
Be aware of
Once the Buddha said:
- You will help nothing: nowhere to hide from two things - the outcome of their actions and from death.
- What to do? - I asked him.
He replied:
- Be aware!
The Buddha asked: "How is it to be conscious?".
He told this parable:
One traveler met with a tiger. He fled, the tiger after him. When he reached the cliff, he slid down, grabbed the roots of wild grape vines and hung. Then the tiger began to sniff the traveler on top. Trembling with fear, the poor man looked down and saw another tiger, who was watching him. Only the vine holding him. And suddenly beside him, the man noticed a ripe, juicy strawberries - so wanted to live!
Keeping one hand on the vine, he plucked another berry... she was delicious!
The beginning of wisdom
To one master, a man came and asked: "What should I do to become wise?"
The teacher said: "Go out and wait there." But on the street it was raining. And people wondered: "How can it help me? But who knows, anything can happen... "
He left the house and stood there while the rain poured and poured. The man was completely soaked, water got under the clothes. Ten minutes later he came back and said, "I stood there, now what?"
The master asked him, "What happened? When you were standing there, whether you had some kind of opening?"
The man replied: "the Opening? I was just thinking that I look like a fool!"
The master said: "This is a great discovery! This is the beginning of wisdom! Now you can start. You are on the right road. If you know that you are a fool, the change has already begun."
To call himself God
A Sufi beaten to death with stones, because he called himself God and he was taken to heaven. Some time later, the man who witnessed the death of a Sufi, died and gone to heaven. Seeing Sufi, he was infuriated and asked God:
Why is that man here, in heaven, and the Pharaoh who said the same, that he be in hell?
The Lord replied:
A Pharaoh, claiming that he is God, meant himself, and when God called himself a Sufi, he was thinking about me.
You don't see it under my feet
One day the maid brought the famous ancient Greek philosopher Thales to watch the stars, and he fell into the pit and began to shout for help, and the servant said to him, "well, Thales? you don't see it under my feet, and I hope to know what is in the heavens?"
Mirror
Once a person with unpleasant appearance went on the road. He saw a mirror lying in the path, and surprisingly picked it up: "What is it?"
And the man saw the ugly face in the mirror.
"I don't like you. Now I understand why you threw away: no one likes you."
Mason
The stonecutter is a lot of hard work. He worked in the quarries all day, while on the ground does not fall twilight. His hands were work-worn and covered with many blisters. His back was always bent, and his face was dark and drawn.
He was not happy. And he once said:
- It is not life. Why my fate has made me who I am? Why can't I be someone more wealthy? If only I was rich, I'd be happy.
An angel appeared to him and asked:
- What should happen to you, which makes you feel that you are rich and happy?
- Well, it's just. If I were rich, I would live in the city, in a splendid apartment on the top floor. I could watch the sky. In the room stood a large four-poster bed with silk sheets cool and I would sleep there all day. Then I would be happy.
You're rich, ' said the angel, waving a hand.
And he became rich. He lived in the city, in a splendid apartment on the highest floor. He slept in a bed with cool sheets, and was happy.
This continued until, until one day early in the morning he wasn't bothered by the noise coming from the street. He jumped out of bed and ran to the window. Looking down, he saw a huge gold carriage. It was drawn by beautiful horses, and walked behind the soldiers. It was the King. And people flooded the streets, welcomed him and worshipped him.
The rich man suddenly realized that unhappy.
- I'm so unhappy. King more powerful man than I am. If only I could be King, I would be completely happy.
And again an angel appeared and said,
- Now you are King.
And he became King. And I was happy. He felt his authority and power. And he liked the way people Express their reverence, and that they serve him, and that he could decide if someone live or die. And he was happy.
But once he noticed the Sun. And saw that it can do things that he never dreamed of. He saw how the Sun turns the fields from green to yellow and from yellow to brown. He saw the Sun dries up the broad river and leaves nothing but parched shores, covered with silt. He saw how the Sun makes life very sources of life.
And then he realized that he was unhappy.
- I'm so unhappy. The sun is more powerful than I am. If only I could be the Sun, I'd be happy.
And again appeared to him the angel and said,
- You Are The Sun.
And he became the Sun. And I was happy. He felt his strength and power. And he liked that he could turn a blooming green fields in the brown, dry the river and change the world. And he was really happy.
And he ruled the world, standing at Zenith and rejoicing in his strength.
It lasted as long as he did not notice the Cloud, a big black thundercloud. And he saw the power of the Cloud, turning the brown, withered in the blooming fields carpets, filling the river with force, pouring water, and returning to peace life.
And he fell into a depression.
- I'm so unhappy. This Cloud is much more powerful than me. If only I could become a Cloud, then I would be happy forever.
And appeared to him the angel and said,
- You Are A Cloud.
And he became a Cloud and was immensely happy. He enjoyed the feeling of strength and power. And he liked that he wishes to correct the work of the Sun and restore life where it seemed there was nothing left alive. And the first time he was really happy.
Until one day right in front of him he saw a Rock. And he saw it, black, strong, indomitable - remains unchanged. And he noticed that no matter how long and hard it poured rain, nothing could alter or destroy the Rock. The rock was strong and stable.
And he again felt the bitterness of adversity. And said:
- I'm so unhappy. If I could become a rock once again, I would gain happiness.
And again an angel appeared and said,
- You Rock.
And he became the Rock, and enjoyed his strength and might, and was happy. He rejoiced in his invincibility and superiority. He liked to feel that he can withstand anything, whatever was prepared for him by Nature. He laughed at the Sun and teased a thundercloud.
And this continued until, until he came to the stonemason.
To settle for a little
An elderly hermit was once invited to appear in court the most powerful king of the century.
- I envy a Holy man who can be content with so little, ' said the king.
- I envy Your Majesty, which are granted even less than I do, ' replied the hermit.
What does that mean? This country belongs entirely to me, - said the offended king.
'Exactly,' said the old hermit. I have the music of the spheres, rivers and mountains all over the world. I have the moon and the sun, because I have God in my heart. And Your Majesty, though, has only this Kingdom, and is content with them.
Life
When the Lord created man, he asked him: how much to give you life? And the man humbly said:
- How many of your will want.
"Well," said the Lord you'll live for twenty years.
The man cried:
- Why so little life you gave me?
Came the donkey, and the Lord said to him:
- I give you forty years. Twenty years of work and help the man, and twenty rest.
Cried the donkey:
- Hard it will be. Shorten my life.
- Give me the years - asked people.
The Lord gave man a donkey's years.
Came g the Lord dog.
- Live for forty years. Twenty years will serve man, and twenty to rest.
Screamed the dog:
- Socrates, My God.
The person asked to give him and the years.
Dragged the monkey.
- Live forty years, the Lord said to her.
Cried monkey:
- Cut you my life.
The Lord her the extra years given to man.
The man has lived his twenty years bright, bright. He was well pleased. He married. Arrived donkey's years. Was it to pull the strap hard and sorrowful life. For donkey's years came a dog. The children of man have grown. Began to drag from the house accumulated over many years ahead. The man began to grumble, not to give them. Everyone was dissatisfied. Come and monkey years. The old man became. At home its not. He walks to his children, grandchildren, nurse, Hamming to the kids to amuse, APE.
So is the whole of human life.
The first angel
The day before her birth, the child asked God:
- I don't know why I go in this world. What should I do?
God replied:
- I'll give you an angel who will always be with you. He'll explain everything.
But as I understand it, because I don't know his language?
- The angel will teach you their language. It will protect you from all ills.
- How and when do I need to get back to you?
- Your angel will tell you all.
- What's the name of my angel?
- Whatever it is, he has many names. Are you going to call him "Mom".
Walk
Once a disciple asked Lao Tzu:
- Let me accompany You for a morning walk.
Tao-Tzu said:
- Only with one condition: no talking.
In the morning they went to the mountains. For an hour the pupil was silent, restraining himself. But when the beginning of the Sun rise, the valley has become so great that the student broke down and cried
What a beautiful dawn! Lao Tzu said:
- You blew it.
He never took the kid with Him.
The Keys Of The Tao
Many notable people wanted to learn from Lao Tzu, but it was impossible.
People were too defined, and Lao Tzu - it is natural, it is nature itself. To learn from Nature need to be anything or anyone. To Be A Single. Otherwise, you will only dissect the Nature.
Tell you what when Lao Tzu came, Zhu-an-Tzu, Lao-Tzu said:
- Great! You came to be my Master? Chuang Tzu replied:
- Leave it! Why can't we just be? And he touched the feet of Lao Tzu. He exclaimed, "What are you doing?" Chuang Tzu replied:
- Do not put anything between us. If I feel the need to touch Your feet, then no one can stop me - not you, not me. We just observe as it happens!
Become useless
Tell that Lao Tzu walked through the forest that cut. Hundreds of lumberjacks chopped trees. But Lao Tzu saw a huge tree not help of the cut down. It was very big and beautiful. Lao Tzu sent his disciples to find out why the tree is not cut.
"It is useless, - was the answer - it cannot be done. It is not even fit for the furniture."
And Lao Tzu said to his disciples:
- Learn from this tree, become as useless. Then no one will harm you. This is a great tree. Look at all these trees died, they were straight and slender. Must have these slender trees are very proud, and they needed someone. Become useless, but understand this: do not become a commodity, don't become a thing, otherwise you will have to sell and buy.
Sleep
When we sleep, we don't know see sleep. In the dream, we even guessing at sleep and just woke up, we learn that it was a dream. But there are still great awakening after which you know it is a great dream. And fools think they are awake and know for sure who they are: "I am the king! I'm a shepherd!" How stupid they are in their confidence! You and Confucius is just a dream. And even what I call you dream - the same dream.
Butterfly
Chuang Tzu slept and saw myself in the dream butterfly. Then he woke up and thought: who am I - Chuang Tzu, who saw himself in the dream as a butterfly or a butterfly who sees himself in the dream, Chuang Tzu?
Look in the sky
One day, looking out the window over the market square, Nachman saw one of his followers, some of Hiekel. He was in a hurry. He called him and invited him into the house.
- Tell me Hiekel, he asked, - have you seen the sky today?
- No, Rabbi.
And the street, Hiekel, the street you saw this morning?
- Yes, Rabbi.
- Tell me what you saw.
Well: people: horses: carts: coach. Dealers - they usually shrug. Scream and curse to the peasants. The men, the women run back and forth: Here's what I saw.
- Oh, Hiekel, Hiekel, shaking his head, Rabbi Nachman, and in fifty, a hundred years from now there will be a street like this. Another market like this. Other crews will drive other merchants, and they will trade other horses. But neither I nor you will be gone.
So I ask you, Hiekel, what is the point in your running, if you don't have time to look at the sky.
Faith in God
The young man that responded to the request of the Rabbi to perform a good deed with a refusal, stated that he believes such things are useless:
"You know, I don't believe in God", - he reminded of himself. "And I don't believe in the God in whom you don't believe it," said the Rabbi.
I looked up
One loved the congregation, the Rabbi recalled how as a child playing with other children. They all climbed up the stairs. All but the future Rabbi, was afraid to rise too high. Later, the grandfather asked him: "Why are you not afraid to climb above others?" "Because they, lifting up, looking down, - explained the boy. They saw up and so scared. I rose and looked up. It seemed to me that I am still low, and this encouraged me to continue climbing".
Glass
- Rabbi, I don't understand: come to the poor man - he is friendly and helps as best he can. Come to the rich man - he sees no one. Is it only for the money?
- Look out the window. What do you see?
- A woman with a child, the wagon, riding on the market...
Okay. Now look in the mirror. What do you see?
- Well, I can see down there? Only himself.
- So: window glass and mirror glass. One need only add a bit of silver - and already see myself.
The dying blessing
The teacher, bless us! - began to ask the students.
- God's will be done, ' said Rabbi Johanan, to the fear of God was as strong in you as the fear of people!
- And that's enough, Master?
Oh, would to God alone. You know - commit a crime saying: "if Only no one noticed I made!<
Many people believe that their interest in the subject is adequate preparation.

Just the same "awareness" is not enough to read everything and spend your time more wisely...
Here a collection of parables spread, and all thoughts of Confucius, and the text of the Bible finally. This is not a reason to read them. The forum involves short and constructive presentation of ideas, otherwise its just no one will read. A little thought sure lay, but in huge texts in my humble opinion, it is better to give references.
P. S. to Read we little know how. Don't worry, please, Mr. Guest.

Once, I was plagued by questions about meditation, breathing and what to do Nagato of of and that to like to know what I'm doing is right or not. And almost all the explanations of what to do, what to have, was found in the 10-20 pages in the Internet in 2000-2001, No Teachers/students and all sorts of crap.
