Yes, Echofon works perfectly without headphones.
There, by the way, seem especially sucky earphones. I tried with Ultrasone - no difference felt.

Anyways - in my scheme MWS found about 6 ( !!!!!) errors ( Fox) and noise generator 2 transit is not a generator of ultrasound, there it is necessary to submit already amplified signal.....work....

hmm. Reverse piezoelectric effect: the occurrence of a current in the piezoelectric element due to vibration thereof. The number of conductors is not relevant, as neurophone actually.

well, my opinion echofon affects the bones of the skull, but neurofen "magic" way transmits sound through vibration of the skin, which is more interesting
