She was more than a spoke wheel, which was rotating in front of the lantern. However, it was immensely useful for calming his mentally ill and emotionally disturbed patients. br> One of the first commercially available mind machines came some time later - in the late 1950s. Its design was inspired by the reports of the radar operators on Board the submarines, which were a deep, relaxed, trance-like state after a long time watching the flickering screens of a radar. Dr. Sidney Schneider was one of the researchers who analyzed these effects further and invented the "Brain Wave Synchronizer", a 15-pound (approx. 7 kg) suitcase with a giant lamp and switches frequency control. br> Larry MINIX the, A/V Stim, contacted me last week after he found the original machine's "Brain Wave Synchronizer". He kindly made for us some photos. This is the first photo of this machine available on the Internet. <img src="http://www.mindmachine.ru/articles/pic/ ... achine.jpg"width="450" height="338"> Brain Wave Synchronizer compared to a modern mind machine. Today's audio/video device can literally fit on the lid <img src="http://www.mindmachine.ru/articles/pic/ ... -Knobs.jpg"width="450" height="338"> Despite the fact that it was big and clunky, machine Brain Wave Synchronizer great success. It has been tested on 2,500 patients between 1957 and 1958. Schneider originally was going to use it as an auxiliary means for holding hypnosis - in the form of a superior version of the stereotypical "hypnotic spiral". br> She has also participated in several first clinical studies: Dr. William Kroger used it to help 200 women in childbirth to enter into hypnosis in Chicago. br> In 1963, Dr. M. S. Sadove of the University of Illinois, reported a 90% reduction in successful anesthetics during surgery using this device. br> Bernard Margolis used her first dental studies in 1966, which was reported less need relief of pain, reduction of bleeding, fear and anxiety. br> Then and Now <img src="http://www.mindmachine.ru/articles/pic/ ... _Flash.jpg"width="450" height="200"> as Brain Wave Synchronizer used the lamp instead of the LED-based points used in the modern world, the device could inadvertently affect those who are around the user. In 1963, Schneider demonstrated his device to the audience and C. Lawerenz of Hypnosis Quarterly. Lawerenz later reported that TRANS includes not only the user of the device, but the entire first row of the audience! br> It is such demonstrations as this have prompted the creation of the pulse lights are in the modern world are so often used at rock concerts and in clubs. Frequencies in these cases are usually not fast enough to do what I do Brain Wave Synchronizer, but it is interesting to observe how mind machines are the ancestors of the pulsed lights are used throughout the world. br> Also changed the cost of the devices. Here is the old Brain Wave Synchronizer note: at the bottom of the advertisement indicated price: $498 + $18 for shipping. br> 498 dollars! Adjusted for inflation the early 1960s, by today's standards it would be over $3000! br> In our days mind the price ranges from $100 - $600. You can even use your computer as a stimulant. We have made good progress! But even so, with advances in the near future, I can easily imagine that the current mind machines will become as antique and charming as this one.
