Even since the release of the BWGen felt the need, so background noise was a little move around more than just banal pink or brown noise.
Programming of the experiments was the mass, inexperience is not very good, and the subject was abandoned indefinitely.
And here some time ago formed a bad thought, I rushed to translate.
The point is to generate plain white noise, but to impose his IIR(IIR) filters, and filters with "floating" options that would set schedules. These filters are very easy to create and very lightweight.
The sound can get very interesting.
The main feature is that such programs at the moment. There are all sorts of SBaGenы, BWGen's, NP2 and others, in which the time of FLOATING of the spectral characteristics of background noise just skipped.
With! Emulate these sounds with audio editors is also very difficult. In SoundForge, for example, there is no such thing as a filter floating options (there are just all sorts of wahwah, phaser where the float parameters of a sinusoid, always). In Audition is relatively recent, but there the timeline is insane - not at least some of the timing parameters to achieve (only did just that-and at a very short distance).
By the way, this background noise is used HemiSync. When it was created they probably used some sort of zhelezyachnye homogeneity.
At this stage the program generates only noise. The characteristics of the noise can be very widely varied parametrically. Editor graphics settings, tried to make it as more comfortable (not to compare with BWG'shnym). The amplitude of the noise are not yet implemented (yet it's the first pre-alpha) just to demonstrate what is it all about (!!! Added: already implemented).
Each filter can be 2-3 parameter (depending on filter type). The curves themselves are defined as Bezier-splines, converted to one-dimensional form (y=f(x)). Tangential width, though you can go beyond neighboring nodes, but they are "cut off", not to create a situation of horizontal overlap (after all, one X corresponds to one Y).
the program itself.
The interface is very intuitive (at least tried to do so). Right click on the charts is like panning (and it is assumed the context menu).
Graphics: Insert - add a node, Delete - to Delete node(nodes) 's' change "smoothness", '~' - switch between the node and slide left/right/up/down - move selected nodes/guides (ctrl - x10 step size), '<' and '>' to switch between the nodes (the keyboard it is possible to edit the curve, but as long as the input numbers is not implemented).
Works marquee select and shift/ctrl. Ctrl+C (copy) Ctrl+V (paste) still work, the data stored in the buffer as text, and you can save it in a text file and use later.
Wheel to zoom, +Shift = horizontal only, +Ctrl = vertical only.
Double - click expands the graph vertically(the other "shrinking"). That is, if you need more detail to work out.
Filter list: RMB = contextname menu (add/delete/change color/change the filter type).
Below right, vertically oriented frequency response of all filters (gray) and current (colored). The scale is linear, with logarithmic will need to pomudrit, and it will in the future. (!!! Already made a logarithmic + scale)
The temporary pointer can be moved with the left mouse button above or below the graph (under the chart removed - because it sometimes causes unwanted rewind). It, by the way, you can move and during playback. If during playback to change the curve parameters, it will immediately affect the sound but changing the type of filters occurs only during the start of playback (when the focus is on the chart - Space).
Given that the graphics and filters in its duration can be arbitrary length not dependent on each other, it creates a situation of "floating" periods. In this sense, you need to be careful so that different parameters of one filter does not float away from each other on the "undocumented" distance
Due to this, by the way, a full cycle for all the parameters might be more than a few hours or even days.
From time to time can get "clicks" (usually because of a mismatch of cycles and sudden "switch" of the basic frequency of the filter), and in principle can pop up exceptions. If there is a clear repeatable combinations - share.
The archive includes a demo file. There's a simple fast zabroshenyj noise "pattern". The format of the text file yet, then most likely it will change.
Stereo as such so far has not been implemented. All filter parameters are duplicated on the left and on the right channel, but the noise of the stereo.
The program is written in Delphi, but in principle it is possible to rewrite the signatures and ported to Mac (if there are volunteers). Also it would be nice to have something like home page (the project is still not quite suck, though, and at quite an early stage). Initially the way was the idea to have 2 versions, one - the editor, the other sorgoleone, cantilever, type a SBaGen'. The principle of parameter changes and the use of filters is quite simple. And I honestly really strange is the fact that this has not been done. This can be "tricky" noise, and really nobody needs? For me personally, is to replace music when you want to lock from the background ambient noise and focus on your task.
In the future, if the idea won't be ruined and hacked to death, is scheduled to make this "noise" is just a template, of which one "preset" can be used a certain number. In addition must be completely independent left-right channel or some koeffitsientom mixing. And to add to this whole binaural and maybe isochronicity tracks. Also there is the idea to do something like delay lines (below the noise left and right channels differ by a certain PARAMETRIC value). In this sense, being combined with a floating peak filters sound you can make "three-dimensional", like HRTF.
